Paradise Creek Adopt-A-Stream Stream Clean-up on Saturday, April 30thAs a club, we have committed to help clean up local streams twice per year. This is our second event.

The weather is warming up, and this will be a great opportunity to be a spend a morning outside volunteering! We will meet at 9am at the Steam Plant parking lot next to CNR, and then volunteers will be shuttled to the state line so that they can remove litter from our PUAFS adopted stream section. There will also be a contest for most trash removed from the stream segment (by weight)! The prize will be a gift certificate to Jamms (frozen yogurt)… What’s better than a morning outside and then a frozen yogurt binge before studying for finals?
Don’t miss this chance to be a steward of your local watershed! This is a great opportunity to give back, get outside, network with other PUAFS undergraduates and graduate students, and with fairly minimal commitment (one morning of volunteering)! I will coordinate with Palouse Clearwater Environmental Institute to provide garbage bags and gloves, but you will want to wear close toed shoes, long pants, sunglasses, and a hatPlease get back to me ASAP if interested, and consider being part of a stream clean-up committee!
Additional Outreach information:
-PCEI is putting on a 1 week summer camp called STREAM for 7th grade girls to actively learn about science, technology, restoration, engineering, arts, and mathematics. They are looking for more women to volunteer (undergrads & grad students). I will be gone that week but please contact PCEI directly to volunteer.

If you have volunteer opportunities you would like posted to this website, please email Matt Dunkle, Secretary, or Laura Jenkins, Outreach Coordinator.
